Seven thousand Feet was an exhibition set up by Christine Wilcox-Baker to bring awareness to diabetes. It was a collaboration between artists and scientists which was part of the 2018 Manchester Science Festival (MSF). The project was informed by the medical condition diabetes and takes its name from the approximate number (now almost 8,500) of diabetes related lower limb amputations in the UK each year.
I created my own card game, poster and packaging to teach the facts and fictions surrounding diabetes. The exhibition had thousands of visitors and I held a drop-in session where I would play the game with visitors and challenge their original conceptions about the medical condition and how those views changed after playing the game.
